2000 – LONGMONT – Casa Class – Sponsored by Debra Lane & Steve Szabo and the Sturm Family Foundation

The Casa Dreamer Class served 53 children who lived in the Casa de la Esperanza low-income housing site in Longmont. This housing site-based class was sponsored by Debra Lane & Steve Szabo and in partnership with the Boulder County Housing Authority and the St. Vrain Valley School District in 2000.

Rigo Tostado was the Program Director for the Casa Dreamers, who are currently in post-secondary education. In 2014, the last of the Casa Dreamers graduated high school, with 98% of those who received 5+ years of programming graduating. Those attending post-secondary education are enrolled in a variety of schools, including Front Range Community College, Aims Community College, Metropolitan State University of Denver, New Mexico Highlands University, and the University of New Mexico, among others.
