The 17th Annual Dream-Maker Luncheon will be held on Thursday, October 2 at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event provides a wonderful opportunity to hear testimonials from Dreamers, their parents, supporters, and more that shed light on how the "I Have A Dream" program is changing the lives of everyone involved, especially the Dreamers. While there is no charge to attend this event, you will be asked to make a donation to help support the launch of a new class of 50 low-income youth.
2013 Luncheon Highlights
Thanks to everyone who attended this year's Dream-Maker Luncheon held on Thursday, October 3 at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield. We had a tremendous turnout of over 675 people, making this another record-breaking event! Dreamers, supporters, and Dreamer parents presented testimonials about how the program is helping change lives -- their own and their families. And, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, a former class sponsor for "I Have A Dream" in Chicago, provided a special video welcome, which you can watch below. While many attendees stepped up to sponsor a Dreamer for our new Dreamer class, we still have a few spots in need of sponsorship and additional scholarship funds to raise. If you or anyone you know is interested in helping sponsor a Dreamer or provide funds to support the new Dreamer Class or the scholarship fund, please contact Lori Canova at 303-444-3636. We look forward to continuing our commitment to low-income youth and their families in Boulder County and cultivating our relationships with our new and continuing sponsors. 2012 Luncheon Highlights
The 15th annual Dream-Maker Luncheon was attended by a sold out crowd of nearly 600 supporters at the Omni Interlocken Resort on October 4th. It was the organization's most successful luncheon ever, with record amounts of contributions going towards a new Dreamer class. Forty-five Dreamers were sponsored by generous donors!
The luncheon theme was "Changing Lives" and heart-warming testimonials were given by supporters, parents, mentors, and Dreamers, including Rory Vaden, Dreamer Alum and NYT bestselling author of Take the Stairs. Their stories addressed the social, academic, and emotional support components that make "I Have a Dream" such a unique organization and how it continues to "change lives." The audience was extremely moved when they watched the "Changing Lives" video produced by Big Blue Branding.
"I Have a Dream" would like to thank this year's participants for their attendance and contributions, as well as the luncheon committee members, table captains, and underwriters. "We were overwhelmed by the support we received from the Boulder County community to assure that we can continue to change lives by providing the much-needed academic, career and college support, including tuition scholarships to students most at-risk of dropping out of school," says Lori Canova, CEO. "The event was a wonderful success, and we look forward to many more years of service in this community."
