Microsoft Match!

Microsoft will DOUBLE your GIFT on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 at 7am & 1pm

Microsoft has selected "I Have a Dream" as part of it's Global Youth Spark Initiative and on #GivingTuesday December 2nd at 7:00am-7:30am and 1:00pm-1:30pm they will match donations up to $500 per donor, dollar-for-dollar.

This isn't just any matching donation, it's actually a race with other selected nonprofits to raise the most funds in just one day until Microsoft's matching limit is met. To qualify for the match, donations must be made at 7am or 1pm on our GlobalGiving project page! These are opportunities to increase your donation at no additional cost to you.

Help a Dreamer Family with Adopt-A-Family

Each holiday season, "I Have a Dream" seeks community members to "adopt" Dreamer families to help provide them with gifts and brighten their holiday celebrations. Companies, private donors, and "I Have a Dream" board members and mentors, among other volunteers and community members work to fulfill the needs of all the Dreamer families, which can range in size from two members, to up to ten in some cases. Each Dreamer and his or her family submit a "wish list" of gift ideas that are approximately $30. Donors are matched with wish lists and then gifts are gathered and distributed to the families. We also offer the option to "Adopt-A-Center" which allows supporters to donate items to one of our six learning centers throughout Boulder County. Donations made toward the Adopt-A-Center initiative will benefit over 50 Dreamers and guests who utilize those facilities year-round, after school and during the summer. Last year we also started the Adopt-A-College Dreamer program to involve our Dreamer alumni who are away from home and in college, by sending them care packages. It was wonderful to witness the different ways community members put together creative packages to support our college Dreamers during their finals.

If you have any questions or want to sign up as a donor, committee member, or a volunteer, then please contact the Adopt-A-Family Coordinator at 303-444-3636 x 20 or by email at

Mission and Overview

The mission of the "I Have a Dream" program is to motivate and empower children from low-income communities to reach their education and career goals by providing a long-term intervention program of mentoring, tutoring, and cultural enrichment. Upon graduation from high school, each Dreamer is eligible to receive a last-dollar, four-year tuition-assistance scholarship for college or vocational school.
